PAUL FIELD & DAN WHEELER Friday 8 May £6
Multi-award winning songwriter Paul Field was a big TSOS hit last year. He returns with singer-songwriter Dan Wheeler – an accomplished session guitarist who’s also worked with 2009 headliners Graham Kendrick and Nicki Rogers among many others. Paul teamed up with Dan to record their new album Rites of Passage. They'll be performing some solo material along with tracks from the album: by turns comforting, challenging,
inspirational – and always true
to the realities of life's journey. www.paulfield.com www.danwheeler.net
GRAHAM KENDRICK Friday 29 May £10
He’s described as a ‘father of modern worship music’ whose songs, ‘crammed full of poetic, divine, biblical truth’, have ‘sculpted a view of God that has impacted generations’. But that’s a bit of an understatement. Graham has been at the forefront of Christian music in the UK for more than 30 years, writing and recording hundreds of songs that are sung across the world. For his TSOS gig he returns to his singer-songwriter roots
with a solo acoustic set that gives
full voice to the poetry of his words and music.

NICKI ROGERS Friday 12 June £6
With three albums under her belt and performances all over the UK and Europe, 2008 INDY Awards finalist Nicki has quite a pedigree. It’s impossible to listen to her music and not be moved. Everything she performs comes from a place of passionate realism. She contemplates life’s tricky questions and explores its complexities with unflinching honesty and openness – and her lyrics frame an arresting combination of bold, raw emotion
and gentle vulnerability.

TRE & TORI SHEPPARD Friday 19 June £6
Atlanta-born frontman of the hugely popular One Hundred Hours, Tre brings us a stripped-down acoustic set with his wife Tori. The band has performed its brand of ‘faith, hope and rock'n'roll’ across five continents, with four album releases variously described as ‘anthemic’, ‘blistering’ and ‘something of a masterpiece’. We're thrilled to be welcoming them to TSOS for 2009 and expecting something very special.

FIVE SMALL PONIES Friday 3 July £6
Imagine a fusion of Crowded House, The Soggy Bottom boys, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, Counting Crows and The Byrds with a bit of Beach Boys thrown in and you're somewhere towards the sound of this four-piece band based somewhere between historic York and metropolitan London. Five Small Ponies combine intelligent, bittersweet lyrics with singalong melodies (not to mention the pianistic talents of St James' own Minister for Worship
& Prayer) and will be debuting
their new Psalms collection.

ACCORD Friday 17 July £6
To round off the season with a touch of class, this eight-voice ensemble will be performing creatively arranged and spiritually focused pieces, exploring the gap between contemporary and traditional Christian music. With individual singing credits including Polyphony, the BBC Singers and the Academy of Ancient Music, to name but a few, their fresh youthful approach combines with their considerable individual vocal talents for a concert of rare charm, all presented in the relaxed TSOS format.
